Featuring: Chris Mays and Jim Fenzel

Chris Mays creates rustic and artistic furniture and cabinetry. He teams up with watercolor painter, Tracie Doerner who paints nature scenes on some of his creations. Chris founded his studio, Vine Valley Rustics in Middlesex, NY, several years ago. He utilizes a variety of woods in his cabinetry and tables inlcuding maple, cherry and ash and often incorporates other natural materials to produce truly unique work. His favorite species is black walnut ... "It's just a very stable wood - I love the deep chocolate colors, I love the browns."
Jim Fenzel is a Connecticut based painterwho uses bold color, crisp lines, and geometric shapes to depict architecture from urban to rural, grand to mundane. A fromer English teacher, Fenzel takes some rules ("Omit needless words") and philosophies (such as Hemingway's "iceberg theory" of omission) which he taught in class and applies them to his compositions using a straightforward style with pop art elements.
Fenzel earned a Master of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute in 2011. His work appears throughout New England and he is a 2022 Annex member of the Fountain Street Gallery in Boston.

Nancy Lane has been involved in the arts all her life. She spent 30 years as an illustrator of award-winning picture books that celebrate the human-animal bond. Several years ago she returned to oil painting and began painting outdoors. Whether in the field or in the studio, the subjects she chooses to paint are about empathy for nature and animals. The picture book "A Warbler's Journey" by acclaimed author Scott Weidensaul was released May 14, 2022. To accompany his story about a tiny warbler migrating across the northern hemisphere, Nancy Lane created 17 large oil paintings featuring the changing landscapes and helpful people she encounters on her journey north. The exhibit will feature the images she has created for the book.
