2020 Juried Show

​

CALENDAR: 

May 9 – July 9    Entries will be received by Show Submit until midnight EDT on July 9 

July 18                Notice of acceptance 

August 12          Shipped artwork must be received by this date 

August 21          Hand delivery of artwork to Arts Center of Yates County 9 am – 12 noon 

October 2          Close of Show - Pick up artwork 10 am – 4 pm

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists in the USA. Entries must be ORIGINAL 2-Dimensional work including paintings in all media, drawings, collage, and printmaking. Photography will not be accepted into this show. Digitally manipulated or artistically enhanced photography will not be accepted into this juried show. Work must be wholly designed and executed by the artist. Not done under supervision. Paintings must have been created within the last 4 years. Overall size, including frame, should not exceed 34”x34”. Work must be sturdily and attractively framed and wired for hanging. No saw-tooth hangers. Artwork may be framed with or without mats.

ENTRY FEE: $35 for ACYC members, $40 for non-members - for up to 3 entries. Payment will be made through the on-line art entry service, Show Submit. If in doubt of your membership status, please contact ACYC.

APPLICATIONS FOR JURIED WORK: Entrants must register and submit digital images on-line at showsubmit.com. Go to the ShowSubmit website and select Arts Center of Yates County Juried Exhibition. 

​

DIGITAL ENTRY FORMAT: 

•   Be sure your image is cropped so that no mat or frame is visible 

•   Save image SIZE so that the longest side is 1300 pixels and resolution is 300 dpi. 

•   Save image with the following format: LastName_FirstName_Title.jpg

     (ex: Cassat_Mary_GirlArrangingHerHair.jpg). There should be no spaces in the title. 

•   Upload following digital instructions in ShowSubmit.com. 

•   More detailed information in photographing your painting as well as the digital entry process can be found at ShowSubmit.com. 

•   Images not meeting the requirements may be disqualified. 

 

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE will be made via email by July 18, 2021.

 

ACCEPTED WORK must be labeled with artist’s name, title, medium, and price on back of artwork in lower right corner. Artwork must be identical to the accepted image. No substitutions permitted. Digital entry is a good faith obligation and should be honored. 

 

SHIPPING OF ACCEPTED WORK: 

Paintings must be shipped via FedEx or UPS to the following agent and must be received by August 12, 2021.

Include name of artist, address, phone number, e-mail address. Also include a bar-coded, prepaid return shipping label. Please pack work carefully and insure adequately. Artists will be contacted if work arrived damaged so arrangements can be made to repair or reframe as needed by a local framing company. DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: 

Artwork should be hand delivered to the Flick Gallery at the Arts Center of Yates County, 127 Main Street, Penn Yan on Saturday, August 21 between 9 am and 12 noon.

RETURN OF ACCEPTED WORK: 

Artwork must be picked up from the Flick Gallery at the Arts Center of Yates County, 127 Main Street, Penn Yan, NY on Monday, October 2 between 10 am and 4 pm unless otherwise pre-arranged. 

​

WAIVER: Due care will be taken with all artwork. However, ACYC nor any member thereof will not be held responsible for loss or damage to exhibited artwork. Artists may wish to acquire insurance to cover loss and/or damage. 

​

AWARDS: Over $1000 in cash prizes will be awarded. 

​

SALES: Sales are strongly encouraged but artwork is not required to be for sale. Artists who sell their artwork in the show will be charged 35% commission to the Arts Center of Yates County to help defray their costs related to the exhibit. 

​

ACCEPTED ARTWORK: All accepted work must be displayed for the duration of the show. 

​

USE RIGHTS: By submission for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Arts Center of Yates County the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, marketing the ACYC programs and subsequent display on the ACYC website of past exhibitions. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from ACYC.

ACCEPTANCE of all the above conditions in this prospectus is acknowledged by completion of Entry Form and submission of jpg files.

JUROR/JUDGE OF AWARDS: 

Lanna Pejovic 

We are very excited to have Lanna Pejovic as our juror of selection and juror of awards. Ms. Pejovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia and emigrated with her family as a child to Rochester, NY. She received her MFA in painting from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, in Philadelphia. Her studies included a year each in Florence and Rome, Italy. She has taught painting and drawing extensively in the Rochester region for the past 30 years and recently retired as adjunct professor of drawing and painting in the School of Art, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences of the Rochester Institute of Technology. Lanna lives in and maintains a studio in Honeoye Falls, NY.
