MEET AN INSTRUCTOR: Jeanette Kuehner—Stained Glass

Jeanette Kuehner was always a “crafty person” and her drive to be creative was a benefit in her years of teaching at Chemung Valley Montessori School. A resident of Horseheads, Jeanette made and sold jewelry for years, experimented with marbleized scarves and has quilted for almost 25 years. She always liked stained glass and 11 years ago finally took the leap, signed up for a class – and hasn’t looked back since. It’s become her favorite artistic medium.
“I find that a pattern or even a piece of glass can move you to make a spectacular piece of art,” Jeanette says. She’s been
Karen Reed at a carving class sharing her love of the art for the last three years, most recently at the Arts Center. “Stained glass can be an expensive craft. The Arts Center provides tools and glass that make their classes an affordable way to find out if making stained glass is for you.”
Sign up for a class with Jeanette or check out her work at her shop at the Windmill every Saturday starting at the end of April.
